Julia was born in St. Petersburg. Her path has taken her from a classical education and a successful career in project management to a deep immersion in spiritual life. Since 2007, she has lived in India and has been closely connected with the Acharya family in the Himalayas, where her life has become intertwined with service at the ancient Krishna Temple, spiritual practice, and the study of tradition from within.
Over the years, Julia has studied yoga, Vedic philosophy, Ayurveda, Vastu, and Jyotish (Vedic astrology), learning from Indian teachers and masters. This experience has shaped her own path — bringing traditional knowledge into dialogue with contemporary life.
Together with Veena Acharya, she created the ashram space in Naggar — a place for retreat, practice, and inner transformation in the Himalayas.
Julia accompanies students as they discover India and yoga, helping them enter the tradition gently and naturally. Her approach combines:
— clear and accessible explanations,
— a mindful and caring approach to the body and one’s inner state,
— respect for each person’s individual path,
— a subtle awareness of the energetic dimension of practice.
She helps “translate” yoga from the language of philosophy and Sanskrit into the language of everyday life — work, family, relationships, and the challenges of the modern world.
Julia organizes retreats and yoga journeys, assists Veena during online classes in asana, pranayama, and meditation, facilitates sound practices, and offers individual guidance to students.
For many students, she becomes a trusted guide — supporting them as they deepen their understanding of themselves, yoga, and India’s spiritual tradition.
